Get all gun work done in at one place

Have not posted in a good while but wanted to write this.

Since Ron Phillips has opened his own shop and it is within 10 miles of Metaloy customers can now send a gun to Ron for work and Ron can bring it here for finish work. That saves the customer a lot on shipping to two different places. Great gun work and a great finish in one shipment. Metaloy still does gun work but by funneling some to Ron it not only gives him more business but frees us up to do more finish work. Every one wins!

Ron and I have also discussed building some guns together. (with all that free time he and I have)This is ONLY a thought at this point as we both are very busy with a healthy customer schedule. If we decide to move forward with some test builds I'm sure any details will be on our websites. Please check back for any updates.

We continue to enjoy a brisk business in tough times and we can only thank our clients for making this possible. Thank you to all who trust Metaloy for all of your firearms finishing. We continue our commitment to excellent service and products in a world of substandard offerings.

Sever Weather NOTICE

As many may know we here in Arkansas are experiencing a sever ice storm. Our shop is without power as many others are. We have been without power since Monday January 26. Our local electric crews are working around the clock to restore power but due to its wide spread damage our shop may not have power for another full week.

We are currently answering emails as best we can. We ask for your patience and understanding during this tough time. We will let you know when we have power and and are back to regular production schedule.

UPDATE:

Saturday January 31, 2009

My power at our house just came back. I am hoping it will not be very long at all till power is restored to our shop.

UPDATE:

Monday February 2, 2009

Power was restored to our shop late today at around 5:30PM!! We will be working hard the next few days to get our tanks back up and running and catching up with all things business. It will take a few days but we will be up and running very soon.

Please NOTE that it will take some serious time to catch up from getting behind on work. You can email us with your inquiries about your jobs but please NO phone calls. I thank you for your patience during this time of interruption.

Fall Update

What a summer it has been. Metaloy has been busier this year than ever thanks to you all. Thanksgiving is past and we look forward to Christmas and a new year.

It seems it was confirmed again this year that a time tested product and service second to none keeps loyal customers coming back month after month. Again...thank you.

We have a new president whether you like him or not. The economy is nuts. A new AWB may be looming on the horizon. Who knows? Metaloy will continue to push the envelope on quality finish work bar none!

Pistolsmiths, dealers, law enforcement and weekend shooters can firmly rely on Metaloy for your firearms finishing requirements. Don't forget we offer many pistolsmithing services that usually do not take months like other shops.

Turnaround & Wait Times 8/4/08

I write this to ask everyone to be patient in waiting for you guns to be finished. Within the last year and a half we are experiencing a fairly heavy work load. Currently we are still quoting 4 weeks plus on MOST finish work depending on what it is.

A reminder that we are not accepting phone calls during regular shop working hours which are M-F 8:00AM-5:00 PM CST. Your calls are very important but we are unable to be answering the many phone calls and still get work done.
Please leave a message and we WILL return your phone calls.

Emails are THE best way to communicate With us or ask questions. Thank you for your continued understanding concerning this matter.

Turnaround Time Update

6/23/08

We are currently scheduling complete guns at 4-5 weeks due to another big spike in jobs received in our shop. We appoligize for longer times but it happens from time to time. We are glad to be busy. Thank you for your support and your understanding of this matter.

Ron Phillips and Company, LLC

Just wanted to make an informal announcement about my friend and former colleague Ron Phillips. It seems Ron has opened a new custom pistolsmith shop. Ron Phillips and Company.

I met and worked with Ron while at Wilson Combat back in 1989. Ron had already been at Wilsons for quite some time when I started. Ron and I and others worked on many different projects together over the 14 years I spent at Wilsons and had some crazy times as well. I learned a great deal of gun work experience from Ron. Magwells, hand checkering, serrating and more. After I left Wilsons in 2004, Ron soon left to help start Nighthawk Custom.

There is no doubt with Rons extensive background & experience with 1911's, he will be continuing some top shelf work in his new business. We have put a link on our site to Rons website. Check it out!

Congratulations Ron on your new endeavors and we wish you all the best!

Tripp Research to Terminate Finishing Services

It appears that Virgil Tripp of Tripp Research will no longer be doing hard chrome plating or his Cobra Coat Finish work after June 2008. I noticed the announcement on the Tripp website. A big thanks to Virgil for mentioning Metaloy as an alternative listed on the site.

Sorry to hear Tripp Research no longer offering this but congratulations to them that the magazine division and gun offerings are booming! In this business like in all, you have to concentrate your efforts where the money is.

We wish Virgil and his crew the absolute best in the future with these endeavors.

A Customer Testimonial

Many times we hear from customers that had finish work done by Metaloy long ago.

Recently we received an email from a man in Tulsa, OK that had us apply our Metaloy hard chrome to his S&W Model 57 back in the fall of 1983. Most likely one of the very first guns that came from our shop.

The mans email alluded to the fact that he carried this weapon for many years on a daily basis. In the pictures he sent you will notice some wear around the muzzle but all else looks to be in very good condition. In Oklahoma summertime can be extremely humid conditions. His S&W looks to have faired very well over these many years.

Thanks to Steve Woodruff whos weapon this is and who sent us pics. Thank you sir.

Our 25th Anniversary 1983-2008

2008 marks our 25th year in the plating and firearms finishing business. We started back in 1983 and are still going strong. Our 'Original' Metaloy hard chrome Finish remains completely unchanged in that time. Over the years we have tried to give shooters and gun owners the best quality finishes and the best service possible. After 25 years, we think we are getting close. We look forward to new customers and new challenges in the coming year.

Thank you all for your patronage over the years. We hope you will continue to call on us for your firearms finishing needs.
